Yeah, a typical salad would not weigh up to a full pound usually (were talking salad for two here, LOL). But when you consider how dense tuna is, and how I personally prefer more tuna than salad, it isn't far fetched for a home made tuna salad to weigh in at 2 and a half pounds.
Be reasonable. Consider everything that will be in this salad:

I think that the big dilemma here is that this is a salad for two, and not one. It's my responsibility to make this salad, someone is relying on me. When someone expects you to pull through you've got to do it. That's why personally, I am a little disappointed in myself for not getting to it as quickly as I should have. Now that you two have given me some insight though, I think that I can plan a trip for the grocery store. It's time to get busy.
