30 is 95th percentile m8. You can transfer from cc if you want with ease as long as you get decent grades. I was a 3.05 student with a 30 act and got into a pretty decent tech school. My English and reading were trash, but I had 35 sci and 32 math.
>>
>>28526363

some places will let you transfer in as a sophmore if you have some freshman credit and SAT or ACT thats good enough.

No idea who or how it works though

Bad habit of procrastination stemming from zero willpower. You need to connect with your peers so you can have a social safety net. Try to keep yourself occupied and focused away from the web. Be brave and do not retreat within yourself like a turtle. Pick a major you actually like and are passionate about and stick with it. Be proactive with professors and network.

BTDT--you will have zillions of opportunities to meet people; spend your first semester doing that, but gravitate towards those who have good study habits. If you're like most college kids (certainly me, back in the day), your biggest problem in studying is constant distractions pulling you away. If you have friends who don't study, it's MUCH worse, because even if you want to study, they will usually talk you into skipping it. It didn't help that my roommates for the first two years were both slackers--one flunked out and the other almost flunked out but went to summer school to save his hide. I was friends with both, so I would be studying and they would say "let's go do ____" and I would.

Best way is to join a group you're interested in like a service group, choir, etc. with a "purpose" you like (not a social fraternity necessarily--as if a Robot could get in a frat) and you will meet people of your same "caliber". It's definitely true that the people you meet in college will help guide what you do in your first days out of college, so choose wisely and hold on to them.

>>28528658
Honestly the SATs/ACT are not even that hard. They cover what, algebra or precalc if I recall correctly? The thing that most people get fucked over on is the very basics such as adding. Theres a time limit therefore everyone is rushing, naturally making some mistakes. Im sure that given enough time I wouldve added up two numbers correctly. There is no way a student taking some form of calc in high school deserves anything below 800 on SAT MATH I, its just nonsense. They just write their questions in a stupid manner so you get confused and make a mistake.
>>
>>28528652
>>28528665
I feel like my brain ran out of juice when I got to the science section
I would read the question over and over again and it wouldn't click in my head what exactly it was asking for

Pretty much how that entire section went

I got a 2060 on my Sat
Writing was my lowest score

Also got 30, I am a certified dumb fuck. I hate that test because it switched my parents mindset for why I get bad grades from me being dumb, to me being lazy.

I just am not interested in any of that shit, I don't give a fuck about academic subjects and my performance in those areas does not mean anything to my perception of myself.

I had gotten a

For a comp. 30 score if I remember correctly.

>>
>>28529012
What are you majoring in

>>
>>28526363

that's a decent overall score, but study the reading part, hard, and get a 36 in science. All the info you need is provided in the test. There is actually no need to know science, just to gather information from reading texts and having good common sense.

kill it lad, get a grad school scholarship.
>>
>>28529175
something like 730 reading, 720 math, 620 writing, but I never even knew how to find logarithms when I took the SAT. Not sure what happened with the essay; I think I was trying to write 5 paragraphs in 25 minutes but since I have shitty motor coordination (i.e. handwriting speed) I had to rush it. Still feels pretty good tibietch.

>>28529601
I've seen the SAT and it's basically our 9th grade exams but in one piece instead of four hour long exams.

At a senior level, there are 2 mandatory 6 hour exams (in written and multiple-choice parts). Formerly, this structure expanded to the senior maths course and the three sciences, but now they're just 3 hours long, multiple choice.

The only flaw is that the exams are often biased to the marker, as they are forced to drive at least an hour to the provincial capital to mark exams for hours, after writing them themselves, for a small increase to salary (and no choice to decline unless something like a funeral is planned, but even then that's just a day off).

I took these exams a decade ago, but was punished with a poor mark due to essentially writing beyond what was expected, and thereby making my finished work too difficult to give a proper mark.

It's a much more massive and demanding exam, with less resources to study on.
