They may be weaker, but in the case of something like Jiu Jitsu, that isn't everything. I could be stronger but she could have better technique and definitely more fitness (I get winded just going up a flight of stairs). She could just tire me out. Besides, in that scenario, I would be intimidated and that is another crutch against me.
I slip up and she puts me in a headscissor and I'm done. At that point I reflect on the fact that it was just a sport and if it was real life she could've killed me then and there (if only I was so lucky).
