Good question I have seen this alot too. I would put it down to two things
1. Alot of these heavy guys have beards (some women really like that alot) and because of their size can grow them really thick.
2. They have a good sense of humour, alot of overweight guys do as a coping mechanism and it works. Sure they won't get to fuck Stacey but they can make a lower tier girl laugh enough for her to like him.
