OP i'm not sure just how desperate you are, but maybe ride public transit when it's really crowded. At the height of my loneliness I was actually happy when the train or bus was so crowded we were all pushed together, it was the only time I felt human at all.
Other drastic options are going to bars, but that has not worked for me in the past. I went once a while back and tried talking to people, but didn't really work out. Even the lady whose job it was is to talk to people and convince them to buy drinks felt bad for me. I bought a shit ton of shots for everyone else at the bar but no one even really wanted to drink them. A few people did out of pity but I still had like 9 shots left just sitting around me afterwards.
I just left after that, even though my tab should've been like $60, they only charge me $20 or so. I cant imagine how pathetic I must seem for them to have done that, keep in mind its an exploitative business in the first place, but they found me so pathetic they didn't actually charge me the full price.
