The ants... do you still see them? Do you still feel that way. Yeah, if you're alone, you see ants. People I have met who are very alone have all hallucinated about ants. I once tried to work out why. Ants move around in large groups, you know. So I suppose very lonely people keep thinking about ants. Though I have never done that.
OP, if you're wondering what causes that, it's low acetylcholine. You know how very high dopamine can cause bipolar/mania? Very low acetylcholine causes spider/bug hallucinations, which is why people who do large amounts of DPH (Benedryl) often get them.
