Not every one hates it, they have generals for it on /a/ every now and then. Its just that it suffers from really bad pacing. There's 4 episodes where nothing happens and the female titan chases them and nothing gets accomplished. The manga is even worse.

Araki makes pretty normie-tier shows but in all seriousness its a pretty good show with lots of impact. It (and the manga) just suffer from terrible pacing is all. Also I hate the fanbase but that's another issue.
