How do you guys get out of confrontational situations?
Personally I make an absurd threat to one up them, like saying i'll give them a wet willy or an atomic wedgie to diffuse the situation.

No matter what it is, I'll just stop talking and walk away. If it's life threatening, I'll apologize and leave, but otherwise there's no need to say anything else.
