I was violently depressed and fat/unhygienic for many years. Half of my school bullied me and the other half I actively alienated by telling them to fuck off, because I thought they were trying to bully me.
By the end of high school I fixed up my act, fixed my hygiene, lost weight, bought nice clothes, and gained a social life. But by then I was emotionally crippled and couldn't do anything with a girl even when she made advances.
