So at the convenience store I buy cigarettes at I am friends-ish with some of the late night workers. They know my name and we do small talk and stuff and they know what cigarettes I get. I mostly go in the evening. But sometimes if I go in the day, there's this qt who works there and she doesn't see me often enough to know my name but she is friendly and definitely recognizes me.
I would talk to her more and maybe ask her out but there are a few problems:
-The store is usually pretty crowded around the time she works. There's always kind of a line so I worry about either holding the line up or embarrassing myself/her in front of strangers
-She typically works with 1 of 2 older ladies on the same shift, so even if the store is empty there's a chance one of the two (who also recognize me and always make small talk) will say something about it or make a "cute" old lady type joke in the middle of it or something
-I live in kind of a ghetto area, and this girl is one of very few white workers at the store. The night shifters I am really friendly with are black. Anyway, I'm worried that she would be against going out with me because I smoke, and also because I wear all black/combat boots, etc. and generally look kind of rough (not in a tough way but I often go into the store without showering etc.)
Anyone care to give their thoughts on the matter?
