>Literally the only person in my entire family who doesn't smoke
>Recently all of my older relatives are dropping like flies from various types of cancer
>Over the course of a month both my Dad and Uncle have been diagnosed with cancer
>None of them have quit or even TRIED to quit

Am I wrong to feel no sympathy for them at all? I am actually just annoyed at the fact that they seem surprised and depressed that sucking down literal cancer fumes for 50 years has (surprise) given them fucking cancer.

Good fucking riddance.

It's nbd really

how much do a couple of cigs once a week increase the risk of cancer? why don't they ever publish researches on "occasional smokers"?
Also wishes of health to your father
>>
>>28472652
>smoking the tobacco jew

Some people get what they deserve.
>>
>>28472771

Every chance you smoke gives you a chance to develop cancer. It's like a lottery except the prize is death.
>>
>>28472652

And this is why I'm against socialised healthcare. Like fuck am I going to pay for all these weak people to get free health coverage for treating their bad lifestyle.
>>
>>28472652
You're Asian, right? Went to Korea and China, literally everyone smoked and offered me cigarettes. Good to see population control is working in some way.
>>
>>28472652
I'm so glad I quite smoking. Once I realized just how much I would weeze and then after having a bad coughing fit and chest pains I knew I had to stop. Been clean for about a year. Quit cold turkey.

I don't have much sympathy for people who get seriously sick from smoking, either.
>>
They are addicted desu senpai

if they could quit they would, but addiction is a bitch
>>
>>28472652
Quit smoking last year have three years. Feel great.
>>
>>28472652
i agree.

my dads been smoking for the past 40 years and wants me to feel pity for him and help him out. he brought that shit onto himself
>>
>>28472771
probably the same amount as drinking high fructose corn syrup drinks

or red meat. there was a study about that.

just remember, 100% of people who drink water die. and water is supposedly great for you.

is your superior brain immune to physical drug dependence? how do i become like you?

I can't say I blame you, smokers are well aware of the risks associated with it. In my eyes the worst part about it isn't that they've done irreparable harm to themselves, it's that you have to watch them go through it. I'm sorry.
>>
>>28472845
*forgot to mention he got diagnosed with lung cancer
>>
>>28472652
I've recently started developing lung cancer symptoms. Smoked heavily since I was 19, 27 in a couple weeks. I'm okay with it. Death doesn't scare me. I've lived a good life. Live fast die fast.
>>
>>28472822
Bullshit.

I can understand being addicted to something that alters your state of mind or gets your high or fucked up in some way, but cigarettes literally dont do anything after like the first 2 weeks. You stop getting a buzz and then you're just smoking for no fucking reason at all. It's the dumbest shit ever. If you're addicted to something that offers no benefit what so ever while offering tons of risks, you are pants on head retarded.
>>
>>28472883
nicotine is a hell of a drug, friend.
>>
>>28472883
It's a physical dependence.
>>
>entire family rife with cancer
>cigs help in quieting the headaches and voices

Luckily, it doesn't matter, because what a coincidence! I smoke 27s, and that's prolly going to be the age I put a bullet in my head.
>>
>>28472652
Once you stop getting a buzz from cigs they stop being 'fun'. I dont know why people seem to get addicted anymore. Nicotine doesnt seem addictive at all.

Pd: has anyone tried to smoke while using nicotine patches?
>>
>>28472652

I can relate Anon. My parents are both in their early 60's.
>mom had liver transplant
>no more hep c
>she almost died
>keeps same lifestyle
>drinks soda and eats crap food
>she never rehabbed her body
>she is is a nursing home

>dad has high blood pressure and fat
>he sits in a chair all day
>sleep in it even
>he too drinks soda and eats crap
>he just had a major stroke 4 days ago
>dad still not out of the woods
>a year or more of rehab if he survives this

Some people are just addicts and stuck in cycles of dysfunction.
>>
>>28472877
That kid mentality.
>>
>>28472883
>been smoking for three months after quitting
>still get that buzz with 1/3 cigarettes
Totally worth it desu senpai.
>>
>>28472865
>it's that you have to watch them go through it

This. This is what annoys me and pisses me off. It just makes me want to alienate myself from my whole family.

It's hard to explain, it's like second nature. I can acknowledge and even accept the risks associated with it, it's like I've pledged allegiance to the filtered jew. Quitting might as well be Everest. I stick my fingers in my ears and la la laa~~ at the prospect of it. It IS pants on head, no doubt about it
>>
>>28472883
Addiction is a psychological disease. You must first treat the real source of the addiction before it can be cured, or it'll form in some other way.
>>
Smoking only accelerates cancer if you were destinied to get it anyway

My grandfather died at 89. Smoked cigarettes since he was 15 or 16, most of them without a filter before filered ones got popular. He had more energy than most apathic teens today.
>>
>>28472652

>Everyone in family but mom and I have smoked all their lives

>>
>>28472790
Not really. You can be a heavy smoker in your 20s, and quit, and have a normal rate of cancer development, and non-smoker lungs in 10-15 yeras.

I literally cant quit smoking. I'm weak as shit. Have tried and failed thousands of times. My record is 14 months. I can usually do weeks or even months but I always relapse.
I've been addicted to alcohol and benzos too, but quitting that shit was easy compared to this. I just dont understand why I cant do it. I have lots of willpower to study and lift and achieve my goals but quitting just seems impossible for me. I always have a moment when I go "fuck it all, my life is shit and im gonna die anyway" and fuck up all my progress.
what the fuck

Nicotine overdose

i smoke hookah thrice a year at most. Used to be more in teen years. Literally the only time when i meet some of my freinds and have conversations.
I know it's horrible for me and i want to quit, but honestly that bit of social interaction makes me stomp my ears in denial.
I know its pathetic, but then again, if i weren't, i wouldn't be on this board, now would i ?

>tfw posting in the thread and it dies immediatly

Studies on cigar smokers have shown increased life expectancy.

I'm dubious of a lot of the research. I have no doubt smoking is bad for you, and am surprised people once thought it was good for you, but as someone who grew up near a coal-fired power plant I have to ask: How do scientists find a control to account for the damage done by exhaust fumes?
>>
>>28473131

Melodramatic people man. Its hard for a professional to get their head out of their ass and its hell of a lot harder for a random anon to.

tl;dr they gotta save themselves

we all just drift through our life as husks, that we're supposed to die a long time ago, but we are to cowardess to hero out. So we will wake up one day and see that we're 40 and still walk aimlessly on.

I've tried a few times to get into smoking but it just doesnt do it for me.

That said I'm well passed the age to know the majority of smokers keep at it BECAUSE it kills you quicker.

Beats dementia.
>>
Guys I got hypnotized to quit stogies yesterday... it actually fucking worked. I took today off work and I'm in bed zoning in and out while I go through withdrawals. Still feels better than smoking and desu I didn't expect hypnosis to work
>>
Quit cold turkey about a year ago, still wake up spitting up mucus. How much more of this is left?
