Why is depression attractive?

It's not attractive. People use it as an easy way to have attention or because they don't know what is it (I'm sad therefore I'm depressed).

It isn't, I don't want the people I love to have to go through that, and I don't like the risk of losing them or losing our attachment to each other just because of a mental illness.

Not a deal breaker though, wouldn't change my opinion about anyone because they're medically depressed.
