In the situations where you are afraid somebody will kill you it is just as likely, if not more likely, that they will cause permanent brain damage, disfigure you, or permanently disable you. I've always been scared of my dad.
I'm afraid of one of my bosses. He isn't on every week, but when its his week, I am legitimately scared of him.
He rarely yells and is always smiling. That upsets me, because you never know where you are with that kind of guy. A normal person would show you if you are upsetting him, but he keeps smiling and joking until he erupts, humiliating you in front of everyone.
My intern final report also is taken care of by him, so I walk on thin ice when he's around.
