It can be safe as long as you have a good supplier and take all the precautions on how to inject properly. If you are DHT sensitive, you could lose your hair sooner, but it is going to go anyway at some point if you are sensitive. Depending on the steroid, you need various types of PCT and on cycle support to avoid lactation/gyno and shit like that, but they are all easily controlled as long as you know what you are getting into.

Steroid use will fuck up your endocrine system; once you hop on, you need to stay on as your natural hormone production will be fucked.
That's the only real downside. PCT and sensible dosing will prevent any kind of liver or kidney damage. IMO unless you model or compete at something there's no point.
