About to move out of home for the first time, and I'll be on my own.

Step 1: stop asking r9k how to be an adult. It is like asking hitler how to celebrate Hanukkah.
I moved out two and a half years ago for university. I actually liked it from day one. No one is bothering you and you can do what you want. The responsibilities (grocery shopping, cooking etc.) might feel overwhelming but aftrr some time, it will be a routine and you can tell what you have to do by intuition. Hang in there for the first two weeks (walk around the area of your home, get to know nearby stores, maybe introduce yourself to your neighbors if you feel like it) and everything afterwards will be easy.

If you run out of money, fuck you, you should have worked harder.
If you lose your job, fuck you, you should have worked harder.
If you get treated cruelly by a woman, fuck you, you should have treated her better.
You have to earn your keep, keep up your affairs, make something of yourself, AND look happy doing it, you have to do all of this with NO help from ANYone, and you have to appear grateful for the opportunity, or the world is going to take a fat shit on your face.
