I pay less than $150 a year for insurance compared to paying $800 a year+ for a car. A full tank of gas that will last me 290+ miles is only $6 dollars. I put about 22k miles a year on my motorcycle. I road trip all over North America. Strap on my bags and ride down 6 states for less than 10 dollars. Get to ride empty scenic roads that cagers avoid due to "muh gas milage." Also if you ride you always make friends. My last trip to Georgia I met a group of locals on street bikes who let me stay 2 nights at one of their houses. We road all over and afterwards went to a bar and met more bikers that we drank the night away with. It's really a lifestyle. I've always wanted a bike because they look fun as hell in the canyons and on the track, but I don't want to get flattened by some dumb bitch's SUV on the way there.
That aside, I just have other stuff to sink cash into. I won't go anywhere near a bike until I can get a full set of good gear and that's a few grand I don't have and would spend on other shit if I did.
