Anyone know how to sheet rock a wall?
>be me
>want a queen size bed
>wake up and take a hammer to my closet to make room for it
>take entire closer out
>buy sheet rock
>forget I have never done this before and don't know what I'm doing
This is as far as I've gotten so far
>>>/diy/
>thinking neets know anything about this shit

Well I gotta figure this shit out before my mom gets home and finds out what I've done
>>28421324
ABSOLUTE KIND OF KEK
>>28421324
God damnit.

>Well I gotta figure this shit out before my mom gets home and finds out what I've done
You're pretty fucked.
>>28421690
How? Almost got one piece in.

It's really easy I used to do this shit for as a job.
1/3 of the way there. This is easy as shit
>measure space
>cut panel to that measurement
>insert panel
>nail/screw it in where the studs are
simple. hope you also remembered to get plaster and paint though
>>28422346
I have plaster and joint tape. No paint yet I'll have to go get that once I'm done
You need to nail the sheetrock to the studs, make sure you cut it right you dumbfuck ( Use a boxcutter to trim the edges) Also I hope you know how to use mud on the corners and for you to paint over it. Source: Ex-Construction laborer who would watch this shit everyday for 4 months.
>tfw i did plastering for about 4 years
Did you at least buy glue for the plaster board?
>>28421113
It's called drywall idiot
>>28422444
drywall is actually a brand. It's technical call is gypsum wall board.
>>28421113
nigger are you using a drill to fasten those screws instead of an impact?
>>28422579
Just wait until he has to do the ceiling. I wish the OP could stream himself being a DIY man.
>>28422433
Fuck no I didn't. I just woke up and decided it was time for a new bed and thus this project began
>my fucking knife just fucking broke.
>fuck me up
>>28422579
Wow I can't fucking talk.
>It's technical name is gypsum wall board
I need to learn to proofread.
>>28422606
Don't stick them on without glue, go out and buy the fucking glue. Put glue on the studs and place the plasterboard on it. Pres firmly and screw the plasterboard down.
You'll have more fun when you have to stop, and use base / top coat to cover the holes and joints.
Good luck.
>>28422579
Na I'm using this with a special drill bit.
>>28422638
Stick your dick in it OP you know you want to
>>28422637
I already have one board screwed into place and I didn't use any glue. Am I fucked? It seems really sturdy and I used about 12 screws on the sides
>>28422680
The glue also secures the plasterboard down, using only screws is fucking retarded. Now when you press the board it will slightly cave in / move on the studs. You also should be screwing it 2-3 times in the middle onto the studs depending on the length/width of the board and spreading them apart.
Picture related is what you need.
>>28422638
you don't know what I'm talking about. Watch this video.

>>28422712
I'm pushing on it all over and it isn't flexing at all. I think I'm fine. Also this corner of my room will be where my bed is so my bed will be pressed up against it once I'm done
>>28422760
Little too late to debate what works better I'm already halfway done
>>28422760
Or you could use a proper one / rent it, picture related is what i was using when i was plastering.
Picture related.
>>28422773
Alright, keep up it then and continue posting how it's going.
I might keep lurking.
>>28422793
Piece number two is cut and almost ready to be secured into place
what are you going to do about that carpet? kek
>>28422903
cover it with the bed
>>28422888
Messy but it's a solid job so far.
Well this is starting to fall apart kinda. Not only did I miss calculate the amount I would need and now I don't have anything for the ceiling piece. This side piece is slightly curved and doesn't sit flush against the first piece. Did the hardware store bamboozle me?
>>28423012
I cant really make it out looking at your picture, but are you sure nothing is lodged behind the board? If not screw it in where you believe it's supposedly curved and see if you can get it flush.
Only if you lived in Australia cunt, i'd finish that shit in 30 minutes including the coats.
>>28423012
you cut it wavy
just cover it up with the plaster
>>28423119
No the other side is the side I cut. That side is the factory side. I just said fuck it at screwed it in anyway. Hopefully I can just plaster the shit out of it or something
>>28423150
Tell me you at least bought easy-tape, kek.
>>28423118
See how it is flush at the bottom and top? There isn't anything behind it to be pushing it out because it's screwed in now
>>28423168
This shit?
Blox
>>28423168
>wiping your ass with a roll of tape
say goodbye to your ass hairs, re-re.
>>28423171
If it isn't flush try doing what i said, screw it where it isn't flush and see if anything happens.
If not try cut it you ca go over the joint with easy-tape later on.
>>28423197
Bravo, at least you got one thing right.
>>28422760
i didnt think impact drills came without a grip
