You're a halfy
You can appreciate some of the references to the 90's which were still popular in the 2000's, but at such a young age you didn't really take in a lot of the 90's culture. It affected the way you developed fundamentally though.
>>
>>28415390
What do you remember from the 90s? Fucking nothing? Then your not a 90s kid.
>>
>>28415390
It depends on your particular community, but you're a halfie leaning towards shit. '96 here.

Born in '97. My first console game was Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Shortly after I discovered Super Mario Bros., 007: Goldeneye, and Super Mario 64. Growing up I was a big fan of Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers (still have a bed sheet back at my old home), the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Sonic. I wasn't super privileged so I was a little behind in some areas. Didn't get Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon until I was in the 4th grade. No regrets. Saturday morning cartoons, PBS kids (Cyberchase, Arthur, Between the Lions, Dragon Tales, Clifford The Big Red Dog, Thomas the Tank Engine, etc), and renting VHS tapes were a regular for me. I thoroughly enjoyed my childhood and can't say I would've wanted it any other way.

Born in 93
I find myself in an odd position. I can somehow remember ahh real monsters and shit like that from the 90s, but these shows were cancelled when I was like 3. I think most kids BORN in the 90s only know about 90s culture from reruns and shit.
>>
>>28415643
1995 is often not considered Millennials, but rather the first wave of post Millennials

Millennials are ~1980 to ~1994, look it up. Contrary to popular belief, "Millennial" isn't synonymous with "00s childhood"
>>
i was born in 95 too, when can be 00's piece of shits or 90's kids also
>>
>>28415679
post-millennial it is then. the picture still apllies btw :^)
>>
2000s kid. To be a 90s kid imo you will have had to have spent a significant amount of your childhood in the 90s. You only spent five years of it. You spent most of your childhood, if you count preteen years too, in the 2000s. Most of your childhood memories will come from the 2000s.

However, you're at an age where you can at least get 90s references.
>>
>>28415733
And to clarify I think anyone from 1986 - 1994 can be classes as a 90s kid. 1985 can be classed as an 80s and 90s kid, 1995 can be classed as a 90s and 00s kid. 1980 - 1984 are 80s kids. 1996 onwards are 00s kids.

This is simply because the majority of their childhoods are in the 1980s, and as such, most of their memories of youth.
>>
You should identify with the decade you turned 10 in. Although I was born in 96 but remember a lot of 90s culture that residuated in the early 00s, especially since I had older cousins and my parents didn't update any of their technology between the early 90s and like 2005. We still had VHS, analogue tv, dial up and Windows 95 until the late 00s.
>>
>>28415390
I think it depends where you're from

e.g if you're from rural Tasmania or NZ and born in 95, you're definitely a 90s kid
the 90's leaked pretty slowly into those places which are generally behind the cutting edge of society

if you were born in 95 but you're from some city in the US you're a filthy millenial
you got all the tv shows as soon as they came out and your culture was being changed in front of your eyes

>tfw your most vivid year of childhood is the year you turned 10
>tfw it was 1997
The best memories of my life in the five years after that, everything went downward by 2002 or so.
>>
>>28415829
I'd agree to that. Your child years is the decade you turn 10 in, your teen years is the decade you turn 16 in.
>>
>>28415829
I always get weirded out by people who say they're born in 96 or 97 and they're on here, then I remember that they're well passed 18.

I'll get over it, I'm used to adults saying they're born in 1994 and 1995 now.
>>
>>28415390
As someone born in 1984, I'd suggest you be gassed.

Do you even know what crystal pepsi is?
>>
>>28415869
My most vivid and memorable childhood years were 1998 - 2000. When I was 6 - 8. My most memorable teen years were 2006 - 2008, where I was 14 - 16.

2001 - 2005 was pretty meh due to bullying and popularity. 2009 was pretty meh. 2010 - 2013 were my memorable young adult years. 2014 was a mess, early 2015 was a mess, late 2015 - now is okay.
>>
>>28415529
What, so you don't like LOTR o_O ? Reminds me of my childhood.
>>
>>28415888
I have specific ages I associate with specific years. They're not even in order. It's odd.

1990: 25
1991: 24
1992: 22
1993: 21
1994: 20
1995: 18
1996: 16
1997: 15
1998: Also 15
1999: 12
2000: 10

Everyone beyond that is just like 6 years old to me.

I love lotr, I just feel like a lot of people a decade younger than me or so are just more cynical sadly. It's not their fault even, it's just an aspect of the era, fucking irony infected culture at its root.

"Millennial" isn't really a thing. It's what Baby-Boomers in the workforce call anyone that is younger than they are, so most people.

The "Greatest Generation": 1901 - 1925

Silent Generation (Depression Era): 1925-1942

Baby Boomers: 1946 - 1964

Generation X: 1965 -1985

Generation Y: 1986 - 2006

Chad's Spawn : 2007 - 2028

Bastard children don't count.
They would occupy every single category.
>>
I was born in 1990 and I don't even consider myself a 90s kid. All of my growing up was done in the 2000s. I hardly remember the 90s.
If I hardly remember the 90s, that means you remember even less than me, so you're not a "90s kid".
>>
>>28415971
Chads born in 2000 are old enough to drive and fuck Stacy though.
>>
95 is the lost generation
>>
I was born in '92 and being from eastern europe everything was kinda stunted. It's interesting because before the soviet union fell, the culture from the west was very delayed in coming to my country. But in the 90s suddenly everything just appeared just as I was growing up.
>>
>>28416764
I'd agree to that. Old enough to remember 9/11 but not old enough to fit in with the grunge spawn of the early 90s.
>>
>>28415390
Being born the last day of 1999, a second before it became the year 2000, means you're le 90's kid.

Seriously, though, you're partially a 90's kid, I guess.
>>
1995 is the start of the post-millenials or generation Z. I remember watching SpongeBob, Jimmy Neutron, Fairly odd Parents, The Last Airbender. I'd rather be gen Z with these shows than the pathetic millenials and their ugly shows.

No, I was born in 81 and any worthwhile memories are of early 90s shit.

I'm a 95 born man and things used to be very 90s back then so I guess the 90s kid thing would be very applicable
>>
>>28415661
Or from older siblings. I was born in 93 and a lot of my experience with 90s shit was from my older brother.
>>
Dude you're like 15 years old, get off of 4chan.
>>
>>28415599
1994 here and I'm like that, to be honest I can't really tell when the 90's culture fully went away as I didn't follow trends but I think 2004-2005 was when I finally let go of my early childhood.

>Chad's Spawn : 2007 - 2028
These types have started to appear in my neighborhood with people around my age and a few years older starting up family's of their own.

Yet here I am still living in my childhood bedroom completely dependent on my parents.
