Ok I'm getting existential right now.
I was looking into some alien conspiracy theories when I came across a montage that showed the scale of the universe. It showed the red giants and stuff which is already unbelievable and then the andromeda galaxy or whatever and went onto the virgo supercluster. This is mind blowing. The size of the universe is destroying my mind.
And I'm so pissed about it.
The feel that we'll never know about all the mysteries the universe has to offer, the feel that we'll never know of all the superclusters, and dimensions and whatnot and the feel that the earth will get absorbed by the sun in a billion years, and all that the human kind has ever achieved will be gone.
I wish you'd become a ghost after you die, so you can fly around everywhere and look what else is there. Can someone please tell me they got destroyed by these thoughts at some point as well?
I find it all sort of comforting, but the desire to know is strong in humans, OP.
I mean, humans designed and built a machine that fucking detected gravitational waves. Do you have any idea what a fucking accomplishment that is?
What really burns my ass is that I'm too fucking dumb to study this stuff academically.
I feel you 100% my dude
my one ultimate dream is to become a free flying spirit after I die, so I can wonder around the universe and simply collect knowledge until it snuffs out
I have this weird probably autistic fantasy about becoming some sort of inter dimensional keeper of knowledge, where I would sit down for all eternity and index every single piece of information about every single universe
but of course, it'll never happen

So basically Doctor Manhattan?
>>28403486
Bro, even if you were traveling at the speed of light, the distance between things would be fucking insane. Are you fast as FUCK in these fantasies?
I mean, imagine spending a few million years just floating in some vague direction and seeing nothing but darkness.
I feel you, though. The idea of exploring space and shit is so fucking fascinating. Imagine just exploring Jupiter and its moons for years as a floating ghost.

If i was knowledge ghost I'd like to have the speed of thought, where the second I can think of being somewhere I am instantly there
damn

100% this
I'd love that as well, including the ability to go back in time (wouldn't need forward I don't think, as death is eternal anyways) to be able to look at dinosaurs, and planets that don't exist anymore. Would be pretty epic to just chill in the universe and be able to explain other lifeforms how everything works.
Seriously if that doesn't happen I'll be so pissed off by existence
