Saw a thread about this on /biz/, thought I'd share it with you, /r9k/. Basically this is a site containing many free courses. You can learn at your own pace and pick subjects that interest you. If you're NEET, this seems like a great way to spend some of your time.
https://www.edx.org
I've also created a discord so anyone working on courses can chat with other anons working on courses so we can keep each other motivated. I'll only post the invite link if interest is expressed though, I don't want the discord to be full of spam/trolling right away.
this is a pretty cool idea, i dont want this thread to die without a response
pro tip for next time tho, instead of just edX increase it to /self-learning/ general

Thanks for the response and the pro tip, I used /edX/ because that's what the OP over on /biz/ used. Glad you like the idea.
Didn't know this was a thing, OP.
Im definitely going to look into this, getting real fucking tired of being a poorfag
this post reminded me when i was into free courses to kill time in a good way..

post the discord I'll join
I've taken a bunch of online courses, even was part of one of the original stanford courses that started it. Too bad they don't really help.

Bumping to promote free knowledge.
I've been looking through the edX course catalog to see what they have on offer. They have a lot of cool science courses I'm interested in doing. Just wanted to let other robots know about this cool self-learning opportunity.
Was about to head to bed but saw an interesting thread.
You deserve a bump OP
>>28387770
Bump, interested in learning with Anons.
bumpu~~ sounds goodu~
>>28387770
This is great. What's the catch?
Is there anything not computer science but computer networking instead?
>>28391242
There is no catch, the courses are free. There is a "verified certificate option" if you want to pay $50.
>A verified certificate from edX can provide proof for an employer, school, or other institution that you have successfully completed an online course. Verified certificates require you to verify your identity using a webcam and a government-issued ID, so employers and schools know that you completed the course work.
I'm not sure, why not check out the course catalog?
>>28387770
Ok, and? Will it give me an officially recognized degree? Will it give me the social ties with people to hire me?
Nope. So it's fucking useless.
Fuck you SERIOUSLY FUCK YOU. I WANT TO LEARN ABOUT COMPUTER SCIENCE BUT ONE OF THE INSTRUCTORS IS FROM MY FUCKING HIGH SCHOOL.
I DID NOT NEED THIS TONIGHT. SEEING HOW SUCCESSFUL , making feel that I'm so behind.
REEEEEEEEEE
>>28391600
Ok.
>>28392372
You're only further behind if you chose never to start.
A last bump before I head off to bed. Happy learning everyone.
