few months ago i watched documentary about Robin Williams suicide and if i remember right doctor there said it was 7-15 seconds before he blacked out and rest was 3 minutes of painless darkness (no drugs nothing he just did it right way) and they said he hang him self because he was afraid of painful way to off himself...
Doctor once fucked up numbing my ingrown toenail he cut up into my toe with cold surgical scissors and I felt it all. Pain was undescribable I passed out for like three seconds.

All you need to do is put a towl or something soft over the rope where your neck is, and the pain's gone.
