There's something messed up with the captcha for me. Sometimes I click on an image, a check appears for a moment and then it fades out. Nothing stays selected. Refreshing or opening a new tab fixes it sometimes, but I stick with the legacy captcha where possible. I've heard other reports of this, but they were supposed to have fixed the problem by now so it must be on my end.

Admin should do something about this. There's a setting in Quotes & Replying to use an older captcha. It's generally easier to solve and doesn't have that problem but I think it only works for replies.
