I haven't orbited a woman since high school and I'm going to the gym three times a week and taking better care of my skin. I may not like myself totally just yet but I'm working on it.

I hate this line of thinking
If I met my perfect gf in every regard and she hated herself due to depression or other reasons, I would try my best to support her because I know it's an awful feeling. But it's easier for people to just drop the relationship and spout some generic line like that to justify their dickery.
