It's real. People who know my name and face at work and talk to me I go out of my way to avoid because of hypersensitivity to criticism/rejection + not having anything interesting to say. I usually make threads on forums that I never return to or if I do it a week later.

That could literally describe me. The more I'm around people the more I try to avoid them because I don't want them to figure out that I'm an awful boring person who cannot communicate to save my life. If I go into a store more than twice and get the same person serving me I have to start avoiding it because they'll try to make smalltalk with me.
