I'm not in Dublin either, but about 40% of the students are Dubliners, and they're the worst for all this partying bullshit. A lot of the mature students are real North Dublin "salt of the earth" types, and it's astounding the difference between them and the next generation of Dubliners. Much less "salt of the earth" quality, though the "chav"/"knacker" element has remained, and the social classes seem to be blending into a middling mess of the worst of both sides of the city, though from the accents I'd wager that the predominant breed of Dubliner is the Northern-influenced satellite type.
Of course, you get people from all over the country acting like total degenerate hipster D4 faggots, but then again, Galway has the reputation of being a "party" university because of that rag week bullshite.
