Honestly? They would have panicked and done the same shit as the characters in LotF. There may have been some differences in how they squabble (Like, Jack's rambling about hunting sounds like something a little boy who wants to be "grown up" would say), but under that sort of stress it would be insane to expect any group of children to flourish.
They did a similar experiment. in real life.
The men had shacks and fires and meat all in under a day. The women broke down arguing, couldn't cooperate or build or hunt anything.
