the problem with 4chan is the content is not permanent, the threads are designed to be temporary, and the archives are not meant to be accessed often in a similar fashion to sites like imgur, as well as these communities being much more focused on a specific theme unlike /h/
these allow for the content to be more specific to what I am looking for and much easier to access
