you can get a decent high-rise for about $2,000/month around Toronto. That's assuming you live by yourself and don't split rent
Obviously, that's $25k per year after tax, but it's doable, even on a $50k salary, which is almost standard five years out of university (ie 26 or 27)
you don't even have to be a rich chink with rich chink parents. Average people could do it.

Ultimately, I didn't go through with it, as the person I wanted to live with backed out, I don't want to take a chance with random roommates, and I can't afford it by myself
60-floor towers with luxury apartments though. $1500-$5000/month around here. Not unrealistic. When I actually call to schedule apartment viewings, I ask "what floor is the apartment on" lol, it's that important to me

thank you for making my dream seem more attainable. if the salary estimates for the position i am shooting for are accurate, i should be starting anywhere from $85-95k. $100k in high cases. it all seems pretty unbelievable to me but multiple people I know in this field have landed these as starting salaries.
hopefully i make it one day anons. i only have half a decade to go and roughly $80k student loans to grind through.
