Is listening to video game music exclusively considered a sign of autism?
I made a thread on this earlier
I listen to vidya and anime music mostly.
Yeah its pretty weird by normie standards, but just do you bro.
And post yours fave songs too.

i find a balance between bgm and music music, i think you're missing out if you don't have a taste for it but admittedly sometimes i am just not in the mood.
<--- This motherfucker, he's much better than uematsu or shimomura. his compositions have a lot of force to them and have more 1/8 notes than the other two. super underrated in comparison.
Any medium or hobby you consume, it should not be exclusively one thing, regardless of what that thing is.
Try Electronic or Industrial. It's a good evolution from listening to video game music, as they're not so different.
Yes. Especially considering 99% of video game music is trash.
>>28319800
>he's much better than uematsu
Not really.
>super underrated in comparison
Anyone who plays JRPGs is familiar with Sakuraba since he's worked on Tales, Souls, Golden Sun, Valkyrie Profile series. If anything his most underrated soundtrack is Baten Kaitos'.
>>28319708
its degenerate lul lul
>>28319708
If there's credible medical research to show that it's connected to autism. Otherwise no.
>>28319875
Music doesn't magically become trash just because it was composed for a video game.
>>28319962
That's not what I said. It's bad because it's composed by hacks. Those compositions just end up in video games.
>>28319929
it's just my opinion about him being better, i've listened to a lot of uematsu in my time and maybe i'm just bored with him. uematsu is a good composer.
as far as sakuraba i think star ocean 2 was his strongest set of work with VP1 at a close second. never played baiten kaitos.

I listen to video game and anime music exclusively and I'm a 22 year old permavirgin so there probably is a connection senpai.

Anon, you just proved him right. ESPECIALLY with Zimmer's juvenile, tryhard "so epic" Crysis 2 score.
Yes. When I was 12, I had been put in public school for the first time in my life and I had no social skills whatsoever and was very hyper and outspoken. Naturally, this made a lot of my peers literally think I was in special ed. The relevant part is that I used to listen to video game music exclusively. Specifically music from the Crash Bandicoot games and the PS1 Spyro era games. At one point, I was extremely obsessed with Crash Bandicoot, but that's another, (irrelevant) story.

You may be a sperg, but at least you got trips anon.

No, I didn't.

And there's nothing "juvenile" about that composition, and he didn't have to "try hard" to do something that's just normal for him.

The thread isn't that long.
I'm musically deprived, used to listen to nothing much more than gangster rap that no normie would know, and lately all I listen to at work is vidya music. It's just so comfy.
>>28320496
>And there's nothing "juvenile" about that composition
The game as a whole is embarrased of its being a videogame. It tries real fucking hard to make you feel like you're watching a movie. Zimmer's score (remeber he's a movie composer) reflects that fact.
>and he didn't have to "try hard" to do something that's just normal for him.
read above

yes
anybody who says otherwise is autistic
Say what you will about skyrim, but the comfy tracks on the OST are just...

There's nothing wrong with the soundtrack of a video game being cinematic. You are just making things up.
>>28320630
They are mostly just normal music.

>>28320688
Anon, videogames being ashamed of themselves IS very much wrong. It's the reason why Crysis 2, with all its linearity and removal of player freedom, is vastly inferior to the first one, which owned its "gameness" and wore it like a bagde of honor (notice its more nuanced score)
>>28319708
Yes. It's ultimate sign of autism. I've never met a normal person that does this.
>>28320789
Crysis 2 is not ashamed of itself and there is nothing wrong with a game soundtrack that sounds cinematic. You are just desperately making up random shit to justify your original and now discredited claim.

i listen japanese punk rock and dont understand it
>>28320826
>Crysis 2 is not ashamed of itself
Then why did it do away with the more gamey aspects of the original (open levels, multiple approach to situations) in favor of cinematic ones? (linear corridor gameplay, increased cutscenes, hiring a film composer)
> You are just desperately making up random shit to justify your original and now discredited claim.
I am not desperate. I am not making things up. I keep providing you with examples from the game itself and all you do is ignore them and call me desperate.
Also, "discredited"? By who?
>>28320630
>not driving around town and blasting anime songs.

>>28320933
Don't try to bullshit your way through this. You are making things up. You are desperate. You are just spitting out whatever comes to mind in a mad attempt to salvage this trainwreck.
Next time, don't make sweeping statements about something you have no understanding of.
>>28319708
video game music is made by musicians and composers, some of it's pretty good. a lot of games have electronic music that's just as good or better than popular musicians.
listening to it exclusively seems kind of strange though, it's very limiting.
the word autistic needs to stop being used so much.
>>28320979
Fine. As you please.
