This. iirc the actual birth ratio is something like 52% male vs 48% female, because male spern (Y chromosome) has a slightly more efficient shape. Female sperm (X chromosome) sperm can apparently survive better in a vaginal environment, but because of its spherical, as opposed to elliptical, shape, it's less likely to reach the egg than the male sperm is.
