Who here gets little to nothing from conventional music?
I've never found a genre I like, and in general rarely listen to regular music.
Only music I like is from vidya and anime openings, because I can connect it to something. Listening to some kick ass boss music conjures up images of that boss fight, feels good mang.
But not so good when people ask me "what music do you like, anon".

I'm the complete opposite tbqh. I listen to music like 90% of the time when I'm alone, and spend a lot of time looking for new tracks/albums.

I can only get into rhythmic music. If it's lyrical but has average instrumentation (guitar + drums or whatever) I can't get into it.

I like the sounds people are able to conjure and the mere fact that anyone was able to make it at all, I think I want to start getting into making my own but i am so shy and lazy and i never have any time to practice. I understand what you mean about not being musically literate though, I think I have an alright taste but its hard for me to discover new artists and think of people i would want to listen to besides the same 4 artists. It must be an autism thing, plus i was really choosy and critical most my life of a lot of stuff so I think that restricted me a lot. I used to think my brain would never be able to think of new sounds and detect the patterns but I just needed to get into a more sane and clear state of mind before I came to realize that I just need to learn and work hard and do some trial and error before I am good, but I am not worried. I also really like lyrics, I write them sometimes even though I don't know music. You're just talking about listening to it though, to which I can vouch for myself that I just let the radio play and whatever sounds good I like and whatever is bad I tune out. This isn't that good of a method though because they play outdated songs on the radio here and tend to play some of the same ones too much
