I also know several people from up here in NY that have moved to those "growing" metros in the South. I guess I can't really say because I've never been to any of them (I was in Atlanta briefly when I was like 6 but that doesn't count), but from what I've read and heard they all seem like generic "sprawl cities" that have a bunch of corporate yuppies living in the downtown area and on one side of the city, with the rest of the city neighborhoods being shitty ghetto areas. Live in New Orleans if you want unintelligible accents, flooding, general lower class people, crime, terrible driving. Factor in mosquitos, disgusting humid climate everywhere. Only good thing about it is the seafood, french quarter, and actually nice ongo bongos.

there's nothing down there worth investing in, besides unstable oil business and shrimping/fishing/crabbing; with oil spills out the ass and the destruction/pollution of the mississippi down there i wouldn't even dare try that.
