No the mushroom season doesn't start until fall, im just excited, but if dried they can be stored for a year or more so you could still find people that sell it
(im by no means an expert but i will try and answer your questions)

there are many types of psychedelic shrooms so it depends on which ones grow in your area

it can vary but usually you feel really good, see strange patterns and hallucinate stuff (try looking at the sky at night, it's really cool)
you also get really deep thoughts, you feel like you find out the true answers to life (usually not true) it can also greatly help you if you suffer from mental problems as it can show you a different part of you for lack of a better word, and make you understand what you need to work on

coldness, stomach pains, thought loops (really freaky and scary) ego death, and just genereally freaking out (this is usually caused by a bad setting and bad mood before you take the shrooms and can usually be prevented if you plan beforehand)

i can honestly say it was one of the most important things i have done, it really gave me a kickstart in trying to fic my mental health, and now a year later i have shown great improvements (as said by multiple people)
I highly recommend it, just be sure to have a trip sitter, someone you know and trust, (it might be difficult seeing as we are on /r9k/) but at least have someone there, if you fall in to a bad trip it can be very scary and might make you feel like shit for a long time, but just having someone there to say it will be alright and remind you it's only the drugs helps a ton.
If you do get into a bad trip it usually helps if you change the setting, so go into a different room or something, setting and mood is very important, so take it on a day you feel okay, if the setting and mood is good then the chance of a bad trip will greatly reduce.
i also recommend being outside in the woods or something, you really feel connected to nature in an undescribable way.

It was like a mild weed high with 10x the red eyes, cottonmouth and confusion, plus flu like symptoms and really shitty dehydration. The "high" lasted for around twenty four hours and all I wanted to do was sleep. The hangover lasted for three days and made so that I felt like I was going to faint everytime I stood up or tried standing for more than 30 minutes, the flu like symptoms stayed around for the entire hangover. Shit sucked.
