There are definitely levels.

Have had it for like 8 years now.

Not really a problem unless it's silent and I notice it. Then it feels incredibly deafening and it starts making me dizzy and start feeling nauseous.

Got to sleep with a fan on not because it's hot but because the white noise is nice.
