I don't see this board as depressing, entirely.
While there are a lot of people here with fucked up lives, mental health issues, and general excruciating loneliness, /r9k/ is a place where they can forget about those pains, because there are also other people who deal with the same shit.
We're all here for a reason.
It's beautiful, really, how so many depressed people can come together and voice their sorrows in a comforting, vaguely reassuring manner.
