If we are born to die after a certain amount of years, why are we even born in the first place?
Why are we to stay alive while feeling sadness or pain? Why are we supposed to follow the concept of capitalism while what we make out of it won't matter at the end of the day anyways? Why do we express ourselves for joy, if the joy won't last, and the people who get joy out of our creations won't last either? If the pure idea of existence is as pointless, why do we exist?

How the fuck would we know that?

Survival instinct I guess. Why not Is just as valid a question. Why not live for a while before you get thrown back into nothingness? Unfortunately neither satisfy me. I don't like living all that much but I'm not ready to kill myself yet. If my parents were gone I would be also. Also, if you could hypothetically live forever what do you do when you accomplish your goals? Keep rolling the boulder up the hill? Kill yourself? Sleep? I would want to be immortal though simply because there are some goals that seem infinite like philosophical answers.

Pretty much this. It would be nice to just be an observer. To eternally watch over this planet as civilizations rise and fall and mankind evolves.

I wouldn't want to be immortal but I wouldn't mind an extra 100 years. We really only have maybe 50 good years, I'd say age 15-65, to really do anything, and that's if we're lucky. It's just not really enough time to accomplish very much unless you're one of those grade A people who rolls right out of the womb with all their shit sorted. Make a couple poor choices in life, or run into bad circumstance by chance, and you can easily lose 10-20 years. It's brutal.

Truth. Born too early man

What would such accomplishments be in your view though/what do you think they'd mean to the world after all.

The concept of intelligence/brainpower and consciousness itself are both very interesting. It just sucks that this is the only thing we can make out of this trash life, and we hardly have any time to do so

Even then, in a few hundred years they will be forgotten. Everyone who ever knew they existed will be long gone and the records of their deeds will disappear in the mist of time.
>>
Death is too much of a hassle but if I had a button to not exist I would press it and I bet most people would too
>>
The concept of existing for eternity is equally as shitty as the concept of non-existence.

There's no escape. I'm assuming after living for so long, centuries would begin to pass like hours anyways.

life is some kind of stupid joke indeed

>If we are born to die after a certain amount of years, why are we even born in the first place?

Cause this life is just a test - a resume and if you play your cards right an application to the next.

>Why are we to stay alive while feeling sadness or pain?

For the reasons above.
Cause pain tells you, that you are alive.
Cause it teaches you a lesson.

>Why are we supposed to follow the concept of capitalism while what we make out of it won't matter at the end of the day anyways?

You don't have to follow it.
But given the fact that the majority follows it by now it is kinda socially difficult not to follow it.

That being said: If you are able to work, being a neet is socially unacceptable in socialism just as well.

>Why do we express ourselves for joy, if the joy won't last, and the people who get joy out of our creations won't last either?

Cause joy is inherently good, even when it doesn't last.

True joy (hesychia) does last though.

>If the pure idea of existence is as pointless, why do we exist?

It isn't.

The fate of destruction is also the joy of rebirth
