I'm not trying to say that fat people were somehow incredibly sought after until recently, but there have been changes in what the most attractive women looked like. In the middle ages, men liked women with smaller breasts that were squished together to look perky, whereas now a larger bust is preferable. In the 50's, curvy women (women with hips and breasts, not fat women) were most desirable, then in the 90's, skinny women were all the rage. Some things are obvious turn-offs because they show that women are not fit to mate with (disfigurements, extreme weight, etc.), but the standard for the pinnacle of beauty changes over time. I would say there's swing of one or two points either way; a seven can look like a six if she isn't what's currently desirable, or an eight if she is.
