SpaceX and the private sector in general is what I'm holding out hope for. NASA isn't getting a sixth of the budget they need to fulfill the Authorization Act, which stated they would put a man on Mars by 2030, and no candidate that's currently running shows any sign of remedying that. The progress SpaceX has made in the past decade is nothing short of astonishing, people don't realize just how huge a feat a re-usable launch system is. Following the success of Falcon 9 and the commercialization of its technology, the cost of spaceflight will drop to 1/10 of its current price.

Anybody else got any space movies to recommend? Just watched pic related recently and it's criminally underrated. A little boring maybe, but hard sci fi fans will love it. Beautiful message and ending. CGI work is also incredible, especially considering it was all filmed in the director's garage.

Don't give your hopes up. I know a guy from college who for all intents and purposes was/is a robot. I don't think his grades were that good but he was a Comp Sci major and he got a job with NASA.
NASA has more places than Florida and Texas too, they do a lot. You can find a way to get in somewhere and network your way into whatever department you want to be in.

Working for this guy is my dream job. I'll have a second shot at college in a few months, I can't fuck it up this time.
