Hmmm... honestly, I'd say no. I'm a huge cycling fan so I enjoyed it tremendously, but it revolves around cycling A LOT. On the other hand everything is explained very well (like different parts of a bike and how races work etc.) so anyone can enjoy it. In its heart it's just your run-off-the-mill Shounen with a weeb MC who discovers his hidden cycling "talent". There are no superpowers though.

Lift weights and regulate your diet better. You can also do bodyweight exercises with relative ease if you live near a park or a playground.
Lifting will help with your arms, eating right (and probably less) will help with that gut, and biking will help legs/cardiovascular.

It made international news because it was a member of the clergy, and it raised discussions about them being held more accountable for their actions since she had a previous DUI, but remained in her position.
