Anyway, you should read "How to make friends and influence people" by Dale Carnegie. Very popular book, written in the 1930's and still relevant because it was so spot-on. One of the things he recommends is to let the other person speak about themselves, and their interests, and to make sure you yourself are genuinly interested in what they have to say. That will make you seem like a great conversationalist if you do it subtly no matter how much you actually speak. Also remember people's names, when you see them later ask them about something they mentionned before to show you remembered them, and so on. Great read.
