Why do ASMR"ists" always show their faces in videos? The point is to trigger a response to certain sounds, not to show your face at every chance you get in the name of vanity and develop a "relationship" with the viewers.

The experience is pretty subjective. Some, like me, get tingles going from the base of their skull down their spine, others simply feel sedated and "warm". Some also react differently to certain visual stimuli, the reason some ASMRtists show their face is because having a paternal/maternal figure in front of them while hearing these sounds increases the sensation, and for others it doesn't or is off-putting. Yes, some like the one in OP do it for less than reputable reasons, but not all of them.

I don't get how the sensation travels throughout your body. Mine stays localized in my mind, and it's truly orgasmic. Nature couldn't have given us a better way to experience pleasure like that without being sexually stimulated. It's truly unfortunate not everyone experiences this.
