Often enough a woman will want to try and improve on her own without the intent to look for someone better but either because they feel like they need to to keep their bf to be deemed good enough, or simply because they want to be the best they can be. However, especially when the bfs/men don't show any signs of improvement and instead seem stagnant, it can make even those without initial ill intent reconsider the relationship and even consider breaking up to go for someone else.
