What brand should I get? Tried Wild Planet and they were just okay.

What do sardines taste like? I want to start eating them but I'm afraid they taste too fishy.

You should get some fine gentlemen 'dines.

King Oscar in olive oil
>>28169784
Brand seems to matter a lot because sardines aren't a single species. Taste differs between them from what I read.
You probably won't like them at first. deenz are the definition of an acquired taste.
>>28169955
>that bland, greasy, Jew York shit
I'd rather have week-old Pizza Hut.
I wish people would stop trying to force memes.

Senpai, if you like sardines make a "fishermans breakfast"
1 can sardines in something oven safe a small container
Preheat oven 375 drop sardines in container and crack 2 eggs ontop of them
Its real good takes about 15 mins to cook it I eat it with toast and hotsauce sometimes I add onions and peppers
>>28170067
This. King oscars are the best, make sure to get the ones packed in olive oil and not tomato sauce
>>28169784
They're pretty fishy, not as bad as anchovies or anything but definitely more than your average white fish like cod. Remember that you're basically just eating bait, and of course they're canned too so that's going to amplify it. Oily, a bit smoky, and other flavors depends on what liquid they're packaged in. Try them out m8, they're a great snack if you like seafood and they're nutritious. I actually find these threads funny since I've been eating /deenz/ since I was a little kid due to growing up in a fishing town. I never knew they were robot food.
>>28170293
fuck you the tomato sauce is even better than the olive oilboth are great
>>28170280

Bar Harbor if you can get 'em, as they are packaged in some big fuck off tins
Smoked sprats master race
>>28169715
Reese's, nigger. They're boneless with no gristle and soaked in water, so pretty much no sodium.
>when you open a tin and all the normalfags leave the lunchroom and you get to eat in peace
is it better for someone who hasn't eaten sardines to get them with or without bones?
>>28170420
Don't be a pussy, eat the bones.
>>28170420
I don't consider myself picky but the bones put me off... but it's really just the spine and you can remove it pretty easily
>>28170420
Without bones, if shit like that makes you squeamish. Cheap brands will often still have some gristle in there, the texture of which will probably throw you off.
>>28170420
Without, the bones aren't a big issue because it's mostly just the spine you have to deal with (you can eat the bones, as they're very soft) but even as an experienced sardine eater I like mine bone out.
Also the best way to consume is on saltines with a few drops of Tobasco
>33 grams of protein in a single tin
>>28170461
>saltines
god tier taste
>tobasco
eh save that shit for smoked fish spread brah
>>28170484
Fuck yeah, man. Sardines are godly snacks. The energy you get from them is insane too, plus all 'dem Omegas.
>>28169715
Sardines boneless in olive oil is fine.
King Oscar is the best brand, get them if you can.
I used to like Brunswick too, but they did something, changed something up, and I thought they were revolting last time I ate them. They tasted legit burnt.
Do sardines have the head and guts removed? I don't want to be eating that shit
>>28171711
This, King Oscar is the best. That's why they cost $2.50 instead of $0.99. The fishes are whole, unbroken, and arranged attractively.
>>28169784
>What do fish taste like? I want to start eating fish but I'm afraid fish taste too fishy.
>>28171775
Heads, yes. Insides, depends on brand.
>>28169784
They taste fine but the smell and looks are too offputting for me to eat them anymore. Definitely too fishy in that regard.
