The good streamers are doing more than just playing the game, they are Entertainers. They have the game content but also their own original content, music, in-jokes, production, and fan service. Sometimes I want that more than playing a game myself.

I just watch speedruns. Watching casual stuff doesn't appeal to me because I'd rather do it myself, and watching esports doesn't appeal to me because I don't give a shit about any of the games they play and I think the whole organization is silly and tryhard

It's not terrible. The only things I watch are Vinesauce, Saltybet, and occasionally Touhou if someone is streaming it.
Streamers that dedicate more than half of their stream to their faces or bodies are pure cancer. Having a small windowed, display is fine. No cam streams are god-tier.
Streamers like GoldGlove, RetroGaijin, DirtyBomb and other similar streamers are bottom of the barrel trash tier and should be avoided at all costs. Don't inflate their viewer count or egos.
