Julian is a forgettable faggot, the Earth cult was cartoonishly evil and clashed with the themes of the series, and the "we must demonstrate our mettle with a suicide attack before initiating diplomacy" ending was dumb. It's possibly the most overrated series on /a/.

Anime has never been more diverse than it is today.
Daytime anime is still around, so if you want to watch Pokemon, Dragon Ball, Pretty Cure, One Piece, Doraemon, Detective Conan, Gundam, Sailor Moon, Yo-Kai Watch, Kyoukai no Rinne, Phoenix Wright or Gintama, you can do that.
Late night anime also includes many shows that are not obviously or stereotypically for "otaku."
The problem here is that you don't watch anime, you just listen to other people's opinions on anime. Those people don't watch anime either, and got their opinions from other people who also don't watch anime. It's the information version of the Human Centipede.

Haven't seen this one but i admit, having a spooky vilage populated with edgy outcasts could make up for somethign worth watching. the sad thing is the village itself (at this point)was so boring in its presentation that i honestly don't think about it as essential even though it's in the title and just hearin "hey this show has a spooky village" doesn't keep my expectations high either. I#m pretty sure the first thing most people will tell you about this aniem is how there are fuckign 30 people that try to get their screentime and because of that i doubt that there is enough space for everything good besides this. i'm pretty sure there will be a high body count but the only characters that will survive almost certainly are the very worst...

Its not this season but I've been enjoying arslan senkai even though its pacing and general flow turned to complete shit around ep.12. It's repetitive as fuck in many ways, uses anime logic in something that seemed to be free of it for the first 12 episodes. But I like it.
