No OP, how are you going to amount to anything while cutting off social contact with people? Social skills are one of the most important things a person can develop -- even more important than fitness to an extent. If you're slim and not a fat ass you should be out at bars and clubs and social settings trying to interact with as many people as possible while eating well and exercising -- that will do you much better than sitting at home reading books.
Cocoon mode is a farse. I get it. It's nice thinking of disappearing for a while and then coming back to the world being buff and confident and all that shit.
But I noticed that it kind of works the other way around. When isolated from the outside world I spend most of my time on da intarnetz and of course I gradually forget what it is to be around people and such. And too much computer is just more immediately gratifying than working out. Moreover, there is porn, and porn does not get along well with working out in my experience.
When I had no internet and I had to work to make me money I improved my social skills because I was forced to interact with people irl. And I could use better use of my freetime by working out or something because I didn't have internet!
Also if you start getting /fit/ and people around you notice you'll have an incentive to keep it going because the fruit of your effort will be showing and you'll be getting feedback to motivate you.

I cooconed for a year and it was worth it.
The most notable improvements were aesthetics and personality.
I developed personality by researching seduction, alpha male behaviour, watching movies, using tinder and talking to random girls on the street.
The other day I almost got laid. Two years ago I was legit scared of becoming a wizard, now I can't see it happening.
Also being a NEET rocks.
I tried that shit, I had the perfect conditions for it too thanks to my parents. I spent 6 months alone in my parents vacation home on lake michigan. Was basically a neet besides taking a few classes at the local college. I started as a chubb ass 5'11 205lbs, easily cut down to 165lbs no stretch marks. Worked out 5 - 6 days a week and played basketball, constantly researching shit online. I got a nice haircut, nice clothes, nice body.
End result: still no gf. This was 3 years ago too.
