The proper thing to do is for her to complain 2 or 3 different times that she wished she had something to drink/eat with her (which is kind of difficult seeing how she works at a store when she can buy it for herself), then you bring it.
No gifts, that's cuck shit. You can buy someone gifts when you're already with them, giving before you've slept together prove you're a 'nice guy' or that you care is a fast ticket to the friendzone.
That said, this situation is usually not a good idea. The only exception is if you feel like you have good chemistry and she seems to like you back. Not if you like her and you're not sure how she feels (or if she cares about you at all). People don't really want to be hit on at work, especially since she probably has to deal with old dudes creepin errday.
