Always wear a belt, it will allow you to kill yourself in almost any environment. Pants will also work, so if you ever find yourself in solitary confinement just use your jumpsuit.
Here's what you do:

Best and most accessible way without gun is by far suspension hanging where you're basically still touching the ground. Knot on left side of neck, aim to constrict carotid artery below the side side of the jaw with little pressure to windpipe or jugular, pass out in less than 15 seconds painlessly, death in probably 10 minutes.
No bullshit 9 foot drop, no windpipe destruction where you're painfully gasping for air, no jugular blood buildup, its just blissfully passing out. A risk is that while unconscious your body will try to resist and potentially stand up or grab something to alleviate the pressure. You also got to make sure the rope doesn't break and that it's tied to something secure which a lot of people seem to fuck up on.

By far the best way is a gun to the head. If you don't have access to one, then I would recommend jumping from a height, since it's both faster, more painless, and harder to fuck up than cutting oneself.

Suicide by police, that way if there is a hell you won't go for suicide. All you gotta do is insanely attack a cop and force him to have to use deadly force against you. Go for a small, timid looking cop, maybe a woman, since women police usually have something to prove, someone who wouldn't be able to handle you without a weapon. Works best if you have a gun or a knife, but if you go crazy enough a club or no weapon will do the trick.
