I haven't been on it for around one and a half years now but back then they were obsessed with the website. They're always in a rush with the window of time you share so they love being able to check the website and confirm you've been logging in regularly and applied to some shit instead of shifting through psychical applications and stuff. Bad end to the weekend lads, can any of you offer advice?
Basically I have a friend group consisting of 5 people including myself.
Without getting into specifics, I was needlessly dragged in to do a favour for friend A on behalf of friend B.
I was a middle man. Friend B was out of town, you see, so it was handier just for me to do it on his behalf. I felt like helping, cause that's what friends are for.
Long story short, something of a legal technicality came up and it was the case that I couldn't do this favour even though I really wanted to. It wasn't my choice, it's not like I ducked out, I literally was stopped from doing it as a result of outside circumstance.
Friend B sympathised, but friend A started REALLY laying into me as if he didn't even know why I couldn't do the favour. He didn't even acknowledge it. He just attacked me relentlessly and gave me a hard ultimatum, no compromises or alternatives were offered like I had offered him, which at worst would have resulted in a small delay for A.
Anyway, whilst friend B sympathised, friend A has just made things so awkward and the other 2 people in my group acknowledged that A went to far.
But they didn't jump in to defend me because I guess they would have benefited off this favour too, and were willing to let me go down if it meant they benefited.
It just hurt me. I mean I'm still friendly with everyone bar A, but it killed me to see none of them stick up for me. They only privately sympathised when talking to B.
It really revealed some harsh truths. I feel things went too far to ever recover, and because I live away (in uni) from everyone I'm just considering cutting ties. I've muted our group chat and only respond to the odd PM.
