What's our purpose robots? Why do we exist in this everchanging and advancing world while we by contrast slowly degrade and fade into nothing? What can we do? Even the smallest animals have some existing purpose via contributing to the ecosystem in some way. We surely can't be the only imperfection the universe has made.

Imagine if we had a purpose. Don't you realize how limiting that would be? If we were created to worship a god, for instance, then all of our advancements in science, art, and culture would be effectively worthless. Any deviation from our defined purpose would be spitting in the face of whatever defined that purpose. But if we don't have a purpose, then we are free to do whatever we want without consequence. There is no cosmic barometer determining morality or success. Society sets standards, but nobody is going to check if you meet them. You can literally do anything you set your heart to, even if that anything is becoming a drug addicted loser rotting away in the gutter, or stewing in your own mediocrity. The freedom to choose is what sets us apart from animals. Are you going to let life happen to you like a dog, or are you going to choose to be free?
Purpose equals responsibility equals stress. We don't handle stress well.
